Graduation, Growing & Letting Go

May 28, 2023

I hope you are finding yourself rested and ready for summer to kick in.  For me, no matter how old my kids are, it seems like the month of May always delivers a fair amount of chaos.

This year is no different.

What is different, however, is me.  Regardless of all that is going on, I have been giving myself permission to create lots of space between travel, graduations, dinner celebrations, gatherings with friends and family, and all the to-do list things that come along with the above.

This means I have to practice a fair amount of letting go and acceptance.

Letting go that I cannot actually do it all and some things have to wait or simply just not get done and accepting that things may not always pan out the way my mind and heart imagine, and that is okay too.

I can see how, once again, this is a huge metaphor for life, and as promised, the universe is reliably giving me the opportunity to practice, practice, practice.

Even as I sat down to write this note to you – I had a whole different note in mind.

As I began to type, this is what came through instead. I can see, even in these micro moments how life is always providing me opportunities, big and small, to practice letting go.

My big lessons for May seem to all be about letting go and guess what, when we let go we create all kinds of space for something new to come through.

I wonder what that will look like?

I invite you to practice this weekend noticing what you are attached to and see if you might be willing to let it go, even for just a moment or two.

Maybe you can let go of an idea, thought, belief, habit that is not serving you, a way in which you imagine something SHOULD be but is not right now.

When you start small, it might just make the big stuff feel just a bit easier to let go of.

Can’t wait to hear all about it.

With a full heart and open mind,
