What happens when we parent like we garden?

Are you being called to be courageous in your relationships?

January 5, 2025

Are you being called to cultivate courage in an important relationship in your life?

This month I’d like to invite you to explore the virtue of Courage with me.

Maybe it’s having the courage to speak up for what you truly need.
Or to set a boundary with someone you care about.
Perhaps it’s facing a hard truth about the role you’re playing in a challenging dynamic.

Do you need to leave an unhealthy relationship that is not serving you?

The need for courage shows up in countless ways in your relationships.

This has been a tough lesson my relationships have taught me over the years.

It takes courage to ask for what you want, to hold space for someone else’s struggle, or even to stand firm in your truth when you risk rejection.

The truth is, courage is essential if you want relationships that feel deeply connected, healthy, and authentic.

The thing is, courage isn’t about being fearless—it’s about moving forward despite the fear.

Research shows that cultivating courage doesn’t just help you build healthier relationships—it can also improve your overall well-being. Studies have linked acts of courage to lower stress levels, stronger emotional resilience, and greater satisfaction in life.

But how do you actually cultivate courage?

Here’s the truth: Courage begins within.

As always, it starts with self-awareness and a willingness to lean into discomfort.

It’s in the moments when you feel fear but take the step forward anyway, trusting that your growth lies on the other side.

This month, as we dive into the theme of cultivating courage, I invite you to reflect on where this quality is most needed in your life:

  • Is there a conversation you’ve been avoiding because it feels too vulnerable?
  • Are you ready to set a boundary, even though it’s hard?
  • Do you need the courage to forgive yourself or someone else?
  • Are you facing a tough decision that you’ve been avoiding?

Courage doesn’t have to look like a grand, sweeping action. It can be as simple as speaking one truth, taking one step, or making one small change, one breath at a time.

I’ve created a short vlog this week exploring what courage is, why it’s vital for your relationships, and how to begin cultivating it in your own life. Click here to watch the video on YouTube.

Now, I’d love to hear from you.

Where are you being called to act with courage in your relationships?

Hit reply and let me know.

Maybe it’s a bold decision you’ve been postponing or a conversation you’ve been dreading.

Whatever it is, you’re not alone in this. Tapping into courage matters—not only for your own growth but for the health and vitality of your relationships.

I’m excited to explore this with you.
