What happens when we parent like we garden?

You’re not failing– you’re just exhausted: Reclaim your sovereignty and your freedom

June 29, 2025

Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt like you’re not doing enough. 🙋🏻‍♀️

That quiet, persistent hum of anxiety whispering:

“You should be working harder… showing up more… giving more… doing more.”

Yeah. I know that voice well.

The other day, I caught myself running on fumes after going nonstop since 6 a.m.—and still telling myself I didn’t have time to stop.

Familiar thoughts were looping: “You’ve got too much to do.” “Keep going—you can’t afford to slow down. You’re not getting enough done!”

I then posted on Instagram sharing about how I was feeling. It raised some eyebrows to say the least and I got a number of DM’s saying “me too”.

But here’s the truth I often forget, that I’d like to remind you of today.

That voice.

It’s not the truth.
It’s not intuition.
It’s a hijacking.

As women, we’ve been collectively conditioned—by our ancestors, by society, by culture—to believe our worth is directly tied to how much we do.

This belief isn’t ours.
It’s inherited.
It’s upheld by systems that profit from our overgiving, our silence, and our burnout.

This is not just personal—it’s generational.

It’s a slow erosion of your sovereignty, and it shows up subtly:

When you feel guilty for resting
When you say yes to avoid conflict
When you override your exhaustion to prove you’re valuable

You were not born for depletion.
You were born for full aliveness.

This is your birthright.

And, guess what,  when You Overdo, You Disconnect.

And this costs you BIG time.  It costs you your relationships, drains your energy and creativity and your health and well-being.

When you constantly override your body and ignore your inner voice, you disconnect from your true self.

And when you’re disconnected from yourself, you can’t be truly available to the people you love

You become more reactive. Less patient.

More likely to spiral into conflict and drama— because you’re human and tapped out.

True sovereignty, true freedom begins in those micro-moments—when you choose to stay connected to you, honor YOU, even when the world tells you to keep pushing.

This Is the Path to Freedom.

Freedom isn’t just a political conversation.

It’s a personal one. One you have within yourself.  It lives in your nervous system, your choices, your thoughts and beliefs.

And only YOU are capable of freeing yourself.

True freedom is the power to say

“No, I’m not available for that right now.”
“Yes, I am honoring my need for rest.”
“I trust and listen to what my body is telling me.”

It’s the quiet revolution of honoring yourself.
And it begins with reclaiming your right to pause and just BE.

So…..this, my friend,  is your invitation:

✨  The next time you’re tired, rest.
✨ The next time you feel drained, refill your cup.
✨ The next time your heart says “pause”—listen.

Not because you’ve earned it.
Not because someone gave you permission.
But because you are a sovereign being.

And a sovereign woman doesn’t wait to be told she can rest.
She claims it.

Freedom begins with awareness. So ask yourself:

  • What are your personal “overdoing” flags?

Is it irritability? A short fuse with your partner or kids? That “tired but wired” feeling at night? The story “If I just do this one more thing, I’ll feel better.”

  • What are the signs your body gives you when it’s time to slow down—and are you willing to honor them?

You don’t have to do more to be more.
You don’t have to exhaust yourself to prove your worth.

This month, may you choose to break free from the false narratives that keep you small, tired, and disconnected.

May you return to the truth:

You are whole.
You are worthy.

And you are a free sovereign woman.

in trust and gratitude,
